Our attention once again has been drawn to another unpatriotic phenomenon in the Eastern Region, particularly New Juaben South Municipal Assembly where functionaries are meddling in corrupt deeds, a conduct we fear may ruin the fortunes of the Municipality. We would like to also state unequivocally that the current state of affairs of the municipality is characterized by social-economic failures, gross indiscipline, and blatant corruption.
Global Network for Bare facts would like to put on record that since the inception of this NPP administration has contributed to the entrenching of this unhealthy practices whereby the presiding member of the Assembly, Mr. Michael Boadi Sarpong, hinted that a total of Seventy-Eight thousand Ghana cedis released from the assembly’s coffers for sensitization programme and other projects in the municipality has been diverted into individual pockets. The municipality as we speak now lacks many developmental projects which those monies could be channelled into. The municipality have serious sanitation challenges, bad road network among series of development challenges which urgently needs to be tackled and so, we will not sit aloof and watch the Municipality to be mismanaged.
We are by this medium calling on EOCO, the Auditor Generals Department and other relevant bodies to help stop the fraudulent acts perpetrated at the Assembly.
