President Nana Akufo-Addo will today begin his first tour of the newly created Western North Region. The two-day tour would see a launch the Western North Regional Coordinating Council as well as a meeting with chiefs and opinion leaders within the region.
The region was part of the six newly created regions by the NPP administration this year.
It would be recalled that political stalwarts of both the National Democratic Congress(NDC) and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in unison rooted for the creation of the region ahead of the referendum.
The Western North Region eventually received a 99.5 percent overwhelming endorsement from voters in the referendum.
Sefwi Wiawso was later chosen as the capital of the newly created Western North Region.
