President Nana Akufo-Addo has said stated that he is determined to complete the eastern corridor road by the close of the year, 2018.
Delivering his second State of the Nation Address (SoNA) in Parliament on Thursday, 8 February, President Akufo-Addo said: ‘we are determined to find resources to complete eastern corridor road’
He further stated that linking the country with proper contracted roads will help with the development of the country.
The previous government of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) adopted the road project in its manifesto for the December 2016 general election but could not complete it in fulfillment of its manifesto promise.
The ruling government of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) however, assured the people that the government will continue with the project and complete it to open up the area to commerce and reduce drudgery of travelling on the rugged road.
