Tema West NDC Holds Successful Fundraising Cocktail to Rally Final Campaign Resources Ahead of General Elections.
The Tema West Constituency held a successful fundraising cocktail at the Njoy Hotel in Sakumono Estate yesterday, with attendees gathering in support of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) as they enter the final stretch of their campaign for the upcoming general elections. With only a few months remaining, the event aimed to rally resources for the last phases of the campaign, ensuring the NDC has the necessary support for a strong finish.
Lawyer James Enu, the NDC Parliamentary Candidate for Tema West, shared in an interview that the campaign team has been thorough in their outreach. “We’ve covered the entire constituency,” Lawyer Enu said, mentioning visits to local communities, ghettos, shops, and workshops.
However, he emphasized that crucial work remains. “The final leg of our campaign will focus on election management—training polling agents, organizing logistics, and securing food supplies for the team. This phase is the most resource-intensive, but our supporters have shown they are committed and ready to see it through.”
Lawyer Enu expressed confidence in a historic outcome for Tema West, predicting that for the first time in over 28 years, the constituency could elect an NDC member of Parliament. He added that he has seen polling data from multiple sources, including polls reportedly conducted by the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), which indicates a shift in favour of the NDC. “Ghanaians in Tema West want change, and they can sense the winds of that change coming,” Enu declared.
However, Lawyer Enu also warned of potential electoral malpractices. “We know the NPP is planning to interfere with the electoral process,” he alleged, stating that NDC members have been directly warned by their NPP counterparts. “But we are vigilant, and we will ensure the will of the people is protected.”
Mr. Asuome Jeffrey Amegbeto, representing former First Lady Mrs. Lordina Mahama delivered a message emphasizing the need for a reset in Ghana’s governance. “The former First Lady sends her regards and a strong message to all Ghanaians: the country is in difficult times, and it is time for change,” he stated. Mrs. Lordina Mahama is hopeful that a return of the NDC to power, with John Dramani Mahama as president, will bring much-needed stability and growth to Ghana.
He added that, if elected, Mrs Lordina Mahama is ready to work alongside her husband and all NDC members to rebuild Ghana, stating, “We are committed to restoring normalcy and setting the nation on a positive trajectory once again.”
As the Tema West NDC pushes forward in the final months, the event was seen as a powerful testament to the commitment and determination of their campaign team and supporters, all hopeful that December will bring transformative change to both the constituency and Ghana as a whole.
