Election 2024: Vote out NPP for us to reset Ghana – Prof. Opoku-Agyemang

The vice presidential candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, has called on Ghanaians to unite and vote out the Akufo-Addo/Bawumia government in the upcoming elections.

She stressed that this change is crucial for resetting the country and saving its citizens from the ongoing economic decline.

Speaking to NDC members and supporters at Adaklu Waya on Tuesday, November 5, as part of her campaign tour in the Volta Region, Prof. Opoku-Agyemang emphasized that only the NDC’s presidential candidate, John Dramani Mahama, possesses the experience and leadership needed to guide the nation out of its current economic challenges.

“In the process of resetting, it is very important, we should be mindful of the person who is leading us, we need a leader who will tell us the truth, a leader who will not lie to us, a leader who respects, a leader who inspires, a leader who is so confident that when he makes a mistake he will accept it and leader who will take us forward,” he said.

Prof. Opoku-Agyemang said Mr Mahama has all the qualities of a good leader, adding that he would deliver to the satisfaction of all Ghanaians.

She said the NPP vilified and lied against Mr Mahama when he was president but time has vindicated him.

“Let us all be very careful. Now who are the guilty ones?,” she asked, adding, “The people who accused him, now stand guilty.

Prof Opoku-Agyemang said the next NDC government would initiate policies and programmes to ease the hardship confronting the people. This would include empowering the youth through job creation, she said.

She cited the NDC’s planned 24-hour Economy, the National Apprenticeship Programme, the Women’s Development Bank and the Big Push as some of the policies and programmes deliberately crafted to financially empower women, provide jobs and alleviate the suffering of the ordinary Ghanaian.

Prof Opoku-Agyemang therefore urged the electorate to vote for Mr John Dramani Mahama in the presidential election as well as NDC candidates in the parliamentary elections.
