Hon. Felicia Edem Attipoe, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Tema West Municipal in the Greater Accra Region, has taken an unconventional approach to engage the public by embarking on a campaign-style evangelism in trotro stations across her jurisdiction. Through this effort, she promotes the achievements of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) and advocates for Ghanaians to support the party’s flagbearer, Dr. Alhaji Mahamudu Bawumia, in the upcoming election.
In a recent interview with Ahotor FM, Attipoe explained that her outreach involves taking trotro rides, which gives her the chance to interact directly with passengers, share the government’s successes, and sometimes cover their fares. She emphasized that direct engagement is essential to ensuring that the public understands the government’s impact and policies, including Dr. Bawumia’s focus on digitalization as a critical path to development.
Highlighting her five-month tenure as MCE, Attipoe argued that her accomplishments in the municipality demonstrate the NPP’s commitment to progress, countering claims that the government has underperformed. She urged her constituents and Ghanaians at large to reflect on the NPP’s contributions and consider Dr. Bawumia’s policies as beneficial for Ghana’s future.
