In a bold display of dissent, Kadir Moro organized a solo protest against certain provisions of the Sexual Rights and Ghanaian Family Values Bill, commonly known as the Anti-LGBTQ Bill.
Filled with emotion, Texas brandished placards adorned with various messages and quotes from religious scriptures as he made his way from Obra Spot at the Kwame Nkrumah Circle to Independence Square, showcasing his discontent with the proposed legislation.
Recognizing that homosexuality contradicts Ghanaian cultural values and norms, Kadir Moro invoked references from both the Bible and the Quran to support his stance.
Clad in nothing but pink boxer shorts, Kadir Moro expressed his belief that the harsh penalties outlined in the bill for individuals identifying with the LGBTQ+ community are unjust and warrant reconsideration.
He consequently urged President Akufo-Addo to intervene and urge Parliament to amend the bill before granting his assent.
Additionally, Kadir Moro revealed his intentions to stage further demonstrations, with plans to hold a protest in Kumasi on April 30 followed by a larger-scale event in Accra on June 4, 2024.
Among his objectives is a call for the reversal of the decision to imprison LGBTQ+ individuals, emphasizing the need for a more compassionate approach.
