The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Educate Africa Institute, Mr William Boadi stated emphatically that categorizing Senior High Schools is nonsense, creating unnecessary competition and people are making money out of it.
Speaking in an interview with the media, Mr William explained that it’s very dangerous that all our focus on the students are their grades from BECE examinations, which leads to the categorization of the SHS schools where some people must pay before they can get their desirable choice which may be Grade A school or B.
He added that students don’t have to be weeding in this 21st century because they have limited time to teach and they don’t even finish the syllables before they go on vacation, he said.
“What we’re seeing is not free, because free means something obtainable without payment.”
According to him, the code of conduct from GES prevents teachers from speaking to the media about the happenings in schools is also a factor to the problems.
Mr William added that Free education is a good policy but the implementation was the problem because we have a deficit in infrastructure and the food they eat, they don’t get three square meals again, is either 0-1-0 or 1-0-1 formation.
