If you are repainting basic schools, don’t forget to repaint the schools under trees too – PTAAM to Gov’t
Bright Nyawudzi Bensil, Executive Secretary of the Positive Transparency and Accountability Movement Ghana (PTAAM), has raised concerns about the government’s decision to repaint public basic schools in blue and white.
He believes that changing school uniforms and repainting schools should not be a priority.
The Minister of Education, Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum, recently announced the government’s plan to repaint all basic public schools from their current brown and yellow colors to blue and white. This initiative aims to improve the schools’ appearance as part of a broader rebranding strategy for basic education.
Dr. Adutwum emphasized that this initiative is part of the government’s efforts to revitalize basic education and make it more attractive. He also mentioned replacing the current brown and yellow uniforms.
However, speaking on Ahotor 92.3 FM‘s ‘Simpieso‘ with host Emmanuel Martey, Bright Nyawudzi urged the government to prioritize more pressing issues in Ghana’s education system and avoid politicizing education matters.
