Deputy Food and Agriculture Minister, Yaw Addo Frimpong, firmly asserts that the Minority’s criticism of the new cocoa price is either pure wickedness or politics.
The Minority’s communiqué condemns the government’s cocoa price increase to GHS 2000 as exploitation of cocoa farmers for political gains.
MP Sampson Ahi also criticizes, suggesting a 50% allocation to farmers. In response, the Deputy Minister stresses the importance of not politicizing cocoa prices and urges farmer encouragement for increased productivity.
He warns against gambling with international cocoa prices, as fluctuations could lead to government losses.
