Andy Appiah-Kubi, chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of Parliament, has assured the public of the committee’s dedication to ensuring accountability from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration in improving the passport acquisition process.
This commitment follows widespread public concern over the recent rise in passport application fees implemented by the government.
Appiah-Kubi defended the fee hike, asserting that it is intended to improve the efficiency of the acquisition process.
He underscored that the adjustment in fees is aimed at tackling numerous challenges encountered during passport acquisition, including delays and counterfeit documentation.
Appiah-Kubi assured the public of the ministry’s commitment to fulfilling this promise, noting the establishment of new application centers as evidence of their efforts.
