Ghanaian musician Mohammed Ismail Sherif Kwaku Frimpong, popularly known as Black Sherif, continues to make strides in the music industry. Recently, his debut album,
“The Villian I Never Was,” achieved a significant milestone by surpassing a billion streams. This achievement was made possible through the combined efforts of four digital streaming services, including Boomplay, Spotify, YouTube, and Audiomack, which contributed 341 million, 125 million, 102 million, and 441 million streams, respectively.
It is worth noting that Black Sherif is the first Ghanaian artist to achieve this remarkable feat, having garnered more than a billion streams, excluding Apple Music and other streaming services.
Some of the standout tracks on the album include “Oil In My Head,” “45,” “Konongo Zongo,” “Soja,” “Kwaku the Traveller,” and “Second Sermon Remix.”
