The Celtics beat the Timberwolves to a record 14 – 3 season start.

The reigning NBA champions, the Boston Celtics, beat the Minnesota Timberwolves 107 – 105 in a thrilling encounter in Boston to improve their record start to the season to 14 – 3, second only to the Cavaliers, who are 17 – 1 among all NBA clubs this season.
 Jaylen Brown scored 29 points, and Jayson Tatum added 26 points to help the Celtics beat the Timberwolves and extend their winning streak to five games. It was a close contest, as Brown made a 3-pointer to give the Celtics a 107 – 102 lead with 1:16 remaining. Julius Randle responded with a layup and free throw, but the Wolves could not pull level with Boston before the final buzzer.
Anthony Edwards had 28 points, nine rebounds and seven assists for the Timberwolves, Randle also added 23 points and 20 rebounds by Rudy Gobert which wasn’t enough for the Timberwolves (8 – 8).
Charlotte Hornets lost at home to the Orlando Magic, Detroit Pistons beat the Raptor by 102 – 100, Pacers also beat the Pelicans 114 – 110, the Hawks lost at home to the Mavericks, the Grizzlies beat the Portland Trail Blazers 123 – 98 upon Morant’s return, the Warriors lost to the Brooklyn Nets in a thrilling encounter in San Francisco and the Thunder continued their strong start in the season by beating the Sacramento Kings in Golden 1 centre in Sacramento.
