Amaarae is set to make history as the first Ghanaian artist ever to perform at Coachella, scheduled for April 13 and April 20, 2025.
The American Ghanaian singer-songwriter has had an impressive 2024, marked by collaborations with Childish Gambino, performances at Denmark’s Roskilde Festival, and breaking the one billion streams milestone across major music platforms.
In a recent announcement on Instagram, Coachella revealed Amaarae as part of its exciting 2025 lineup, which includes other big names like Travis Scott, Missy Elliott, and Rema.
Her performance will solidify her place in music history as the first Ghanaian artist to take the Coachella stage, joining the ranks of global stars such as Post Malone, Megan Thee Stallion, South African sensation Tyla, Ty Dolla Sign, T-Pain, and Nigeria’s Rema.
The 2025 Coachella Music Festival will be held at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California, from April 11 to April 20, with ticket presales starting on November 22, 2024.
Amaarae, born Ama Serwah Genfi and formerly known as Petrah, is celebrated for her unique blend of pop, R&B, afrobeats, and alté, alongside her fluid representation of gender and sexuality.
