A Ghanaian Reggae, poet, and outspoken radio presenter Abubakar Ahmed popularly known as Blakk Rasta has criticized President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for waiting until his tenure is almost up to undertake a ministerial reshuffle.
In his view, the removal of Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta and Health Minister Kwaku Agyemang Manu had to have taken place long ago to save the faltering Ghanaian economy.
Blakk Rasta admonished Akufo-Addo for refusing to pay attention to the calls for a reshuffle earlier, saying “He watched the ship sink with a haughty demeanor. He is removing life jackets for everybody to wear because everyone is drowning today.”
Speaking on the Urbanblend show monitored by Ahotoronline.com, Blakk Rasta blamed Akufo-Addo for contributing to the hardship Ghanaians are battling with, by maintaining underperforming ministers for a long period.
“Today prices of food are rising. President, what do you think you have done?
Agyeman Manu and Ken Ofori Atta have been fired by you. He said, “You ought to have sacked them seven trillion years ago.”
The changes made by the country’s president took effect right away on February 14, 2024. Eleven ministers and ten deputy ministers were removed from their positions by the administration and moved some around.
