The culture and business structure we have worked with in our business circles in Ghana lacks basic prerequisite of partnership. According to indicators in Ghana, there is deep entrenched partisanship with businesses associated with political power; which has to do with winner takes all mentality.
And when New Patriotic Party comes they sack most workers and put their party supporters and the other way round and can defeat the purpose and vision of the policy if there is no continuity with the agenda on the 24hour economy
Speaking on Yepe Hunu, political talk show on Ahotor 92.3 FM hosted by Nana Dogbey in Accra, he said we have come of age to think outside the box to bring development in to the country.
The founder and leader of Union Government (UG), Akwasi Addae Odike in his lament said that, he disagrees with the 24- hour economy.
According to him, this current economic exclusion, partisanship and with state institutions that are weak won’t make John Mahama’s economy policy espouse successful.
He said, Ghana’s biggest problem is partisanship and the model of governance in Singapore by Linqua You, Malaysia and Korea gained same Independence and even Ghana had more resources than them, but our leaders have failed us.
He added that, Ghana’s brands is not appealing in the global market and due to that we are not gaining any positive urge in the global competitive market, where we can leap off into huge industrialization, and very unfortunate so far Ghana cannot go on this tangent.
