The National Petroleum Authority (NPA) said they are in the process of establishing a specialise court to deal with individuals who will violate it regulations.
Legal Affairs Director of NPA Farida Ali Musah revealed this to journalists in the upper west region.
In addition, setting up these specialise courts, their plan is to educate judges and law enforcement officers on the downstream petroleum Act 2005 facilitating smooth prosecution.
“We are also looking at specialise court purposely for the downstream industry just like the Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT) does.
The SSNIT have specialised court, specialised Judges that sit on their matters and they are train periodically. So they understand the SSNIT issues very well especially, the same way we want to do”
