Kumawood movie actor, Akrobeto has expressed his disagreement with the ban on illegal gold mining (galamsey) which is said to be a threat to water bodies and the environment in Ghana.
According to him, galamsey [gather and sell] serves as a source of income to support the livelihood of many Ghanaians and, therefore, must not be stopped.
He advised government to treat water bodies to make them potable if activities of galamseyers were polluting it.
In the view of the 55-year-old actor, stopping galamsey will rob some people of their livelihood.
