Former MP for the Kumbungu constituency in the Northern region Ras Mubarak has commented on the sim blockage by the National Communication Authority (NCA).
The NCA has called on Ghanaians to re-register their sim cards with their Ghana cards; this has seen a postponement on two occasions in the assurance of getting all Ghanaians fixed but to no avail. Hence the blockage of sim cards of over 9 million Ghanaians.
Speaking on Adekye Mu Nsem, on Ahotor 92.3FM, he said is not true that Ghanaians are Asouden but there are a lot of obstacles in the Sim card re-registration exercise.
He gave instances that are confronting some Ghanaians on this.
‘’Ghana is not Accra alone, in my hometown people have to cross rivers or walk miles to get access to an office, so when they go through all this and it does not work, do you blame them? He questioned.
He said if our courts are motherly hearted they will give good verdicts on this when presented to them.
Meanwhile, Carl Owuompesika of the Anchoring Democracy Advocacy Movement Ghana (ADAM-GH), has said he does not understand why Ghanaians are not having access to the card but foreigners do.
He accused the government of being behind this.
