Bagbin recalls MPs to consider approval of three new loans 

The Speaker of Parliament, Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin, has directed the assembly of all members of Parliament on Tuesday, May 2, 2023.

The lawmakers are to assemble for an “urgent parliamentary business”, according to the notice of recall issued by the Speaker on Thursday, April 20.

Speaker Bagbin is exercising this authority based on Order 42(3) of the Standing Orders of the Parliament of Ghana.

Parliament proceeded on recess on Friday, March 31 and was expected to reassemble in July.

According to a report given by TV3’s Parliamentary Correspondent on News360, Komla Klutse, he said the business for the recall could be for the consideration of some three loan agreements which time could not permit before the House went on a recess.According to him, the Speaker in his closing statement on March 31 said he may recall Parliament for an emergency sitting before they reconvene.
