Yepe Hunu, a weekend news review political program aired on AHOTOR FM (92.3) every Saturday, received a surprise visit of the Chief Executive Officer of Universal Multimedia Company Limited Limited,Dr Samuel Ofosu Ampofo during one of the station’s talk show on Saturday 14th, 2022.
The National Chairman of The NDC, owner and bankroller for both AHOTOR FM (92.3) and Radio One (100.7) celebrated his 60th birthday anniversary on Thursday 10th March, 2022.
As part of his numerous weekend activities, the business mogul and seasoned Governance Expert, took time out of his busy schedules and pay a visit to the studio Of AHOTOR FM during the dying embers Yepe Hunu program to commend the team for enlightening and offering real time quality information to listeners and subjecting government to strict prove and accountability for Good Governance. The former Local Government Minister, opined the weekend Political show has come a long way and Metamorphosed into a fact check platform and Constructively contributing to National Discourse.
The host of the Show, Nana Dogbe, together with his avid panelists, namely : Alistair Tairo Nelson ( political activist) George Nash and Kenneth Kabu Kofi Kano ( both NDC National Communication Officers) and also represented was Dr Julius Kwaku Kattah, a Fellow, Chartered Economist/Economist/Lecturer.
The entire crew were elated and very enthusiastic to see Dr Samuel Ofosu Ampofo’s appearance at the station in such an unexpected fashion.
Dr Samuel Ampofo trailed the team with a belated birthday surprises amid the cutting of cake and Merrymaking.
He used the auspicious moment to share some of his life experiences, in politics, as an elder of the church of Pentecost and entrepreneur. Mr. Samuel Ofosu Ampofo similarly, admonished the youth to eschew negative social tendencies which could derail their future aspirations, and also showed appreciation to the listeners for remaining loyal to the AHOTOR brand.
The National Chairman of The NDC, touched on the subject of Governance And leadership with a call on President Akufo Addo to allow for dissenting views and opinions on national issues to deepen the tenets of multi party democracy in the country.
He noted the recent arrests and persecution of opponents of the Akufo Addo led Government defy logic.
Dr Samuel Ampofo also added his voice to the controversies surrounding the supreme verdict on whether or not Deputies speakers in Parliament have the right to vote saga.
The Supreme Court after hearing the constitutional interpretations of article 102 and 104(1) brought before the apex court ruled unanimous (7-0) that a deputy speaker whiles presiding in chambers in the absence the speaker Of Parliament can vote, but ordered that the directive is subject to further scrutiny by members Of Parliament respectively.
The ruling by the apex court on Wednesday 9th March, 2022 have been met by a barrage of criticisms from persons within academia and the general public who have described the judgement as politically motivated and a travesty of justice.
Dr. Ampofo called on President Akufo Addo to rise above petty Politics and solve the unbridled challenges confronting Ghanaians as he said Mr. Akufo Addo is “a walking Contradiction” where he preach virtues and practice vices. President Nana Addo, after the announcement by the Supreme Court Over the landmark case told the press that all must accept the outcome of the judges since their ruling reign supreme over any other legislative instruments on the land. The comment by the President has been subjected to rigorous backlash by the public.
