NDC cautions EC over any attempt to forgo balloting in the December elections.

The National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress, Chairman Ofosu Ampofo has warned the electoral commission of Ghana to desist from any attempt to forgo balloting in the coming elections which according to him is a time tested principle and the commission has no right to change the rules of the game without recourse to stakeholders.

The chronicle newspaper within the week reported the electoral commission of Ghana is considering doing away with balloting how presidential and parlimentary candidates will appear on the electoral poll for the December election.

Chairman Ofosu Ampofo has challenged and warned the commission to desist from such consideration because his party, the NDC will not barge or succumb to any move that’s contrary to time tested principles of the commission

‘You cannot change the rules of the game in the middle of the game without recourse to stakeholders, we will vehemently protest any attempt by the EC to forgo balloting”

He made this known on Ahotor fm 92.3 morning show with Kofi Citizen. The National Chairman of the NDC queried the motive behind what he described as dangerous to peaceful elections and recounted numerous occasion the Jean Meansah led commission has trampled upon electoral laws with unwavering impunity since taking over the helms of the commission as EC boss
