The Director Of Elections and Vice Chairman Of the National Democratic Congress ( NDC) Samuel Ofosu-Ampofo has ,charged the Umbrella body of the Ghana Journalist Association ( GJA) to sanitized the practicing of journalism in Ghana.
He admonished and implored there should be a stern and appropriate query and sanctions against these unrecognized, recalcitrant and unaccredited media person’s who were deported from Australia weeks ago on grounds of violating and viciously forging travelling documents to the aforementioned country.
Media reportage unearthed the disguised and impersonation of some unconfirmed NPP sympathizers who were sent to Australia to support the Ghana Olympic team through a criminally intended process under the auspices of the Ministry Of Youth and Sports.
Hon. Ampofo’s comments come on the wake of alleged deported journalists by the Australian government over issues of visa fraud and racketeering in view of the Olympic Games in Australia.
The Vice Chairman of the NDC asserted the phenomenon need to be look through painstakingly with ‘eagle eyes’ to bring culprits who fall prey to such a national embarrassment to book.
He stated on Ahotor FM Morning Show ‘ Oman Yi Mu Nsem on Thursday 5/4/2018″ that, the various sporting disciplines have gained notoriety for corrupt practices over the years and the earlier the Akufo-Addo government stem it by constituting an enquiry into the current Visa fraud incident, the better for the progress of the nation and a means as a cleansing module for national sovereignty.

And further demanded immediate government’s inquest to unravel the mystery behind the move.
Ofosu-Ampofo Charged and concurrently submitted that, successive administrations have suffer similar faiths since from the era of former President John Kuffour, Late President John Mills to former President John Mahama’s regime.
He stressed, the Akufo Addo’s era has been marred with various degree of scandalous acts in the sports ministry which ought to be given attention and posited again that, the investigative bodies should not shy away from such setbacks and barbarism which has become an albatross in the country.

However, some of the deportees who touched down at Kotoka International Airport( KIA) told journalists that, they were made to pay a whooping sums of about Ghc350,000 , Ghc 120,000 respectively as well as other undisclosed and unspecified additions, before they were allowed to embarked on the trip.
Mr. Ampofo contended that the heights of corruption in the ambience of the sporting fraternity is endemic and jaw dropping.
