Otiko Djaba Calls for End to Disability Discrimination, Urges Inclusive Workplaces and Equal Opportunities for All

Former Minister for Gender, Children, and Social Protection, Madam Otiko Afisa Djaba, has urged business owners and the general public to actively combat discrimination against persons living with disabilities. Speaking passionately on the matter, Madam Djaba emphasized the importance of inclusivity and equal opportunities for all, regardless of physical or mental abilities.

Madam Otiko Afisa Djaba, reminded the public that disability can affect anyone, at any stage in life.

Madam Djaba stressed that promoting accessibility and supporting persons with disabilities in workplaces, schools, and communities not only upholds their rights but also enriches society.

She called for the implementation of policies that ensure workplaces are accessible and inclusive, encouraging companies to provide appropriate accommodations and training to create environments where everyone can thrive.

The former minister also appealed to the general public to challenge stereotypes and show empathy, understanding that individuals with disabilities contribute significantly to society when given equal opportunities.
