Mahama’s 24-hour economy is a game changer and it is possible – Ghana Federation of Labour Secretary

The Secretary General for the Ghana Federation of Labour(GFL) Abraham Koomson has welcomed the 24-hour economy proposal by the 2024 NDC flagbearer John Mahama.

John Mahama has assured Ghanaians that if re-elected President, he will ensure the economy runs 24 hours; stressing this is part of his manifesto to improving the living standards of the citizenry as he believes the New Patriotic Party, led by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has failed Ghanaians

Mahama, the opposition National Democratic Congress’s candidate for the 2024 presidential election has mentioned the 24-hour economy as one of the key initiatives his government would roll out when he recaptures power.

He indicated that the NDC government in 2025 will introduce incentives and tax breaks for manufacturers who will run extra shifts to create more room for employment.

Commenting on this on Ahotor 92.3 FM‘s Yepe Ahunu hosted by Alexander Nana Dogbe, Mr. Koomson was of the view that the policy will help Ghana’s ailing economy.

Appearing as a guest on the same show was the former Deputy Minister of Fisheries Daniel Christian Dugan and he was of the view that, if the 24-hour economy policy will be possible, it shouldn’t be focused only on the industries.
