I sold pure water to survive – ‘Cobra’ hitmaker, Obaapa Gladys

Ghanaian musician Obaapa Gladys commonly known through her song title ‘’Nipa no bi ye Cobra’’  has narrated her fights while growing up.

The ‘Cobra’ hitmaker said an interview with Sammy Kay on the Go online show, she exposed that she had a very challenging childhood.

According to her, she sold pure water amongst other items to survive. She showed that the neglect of her father to her contributed to her difficulties when growing up.

Obaapa Gladys added that she has to sell pure water just to make her earnings meet, although she had a great desire for education but plunged out of school because she had to stay with someone who had promised to take her education when the father left the mum for another woman.

After that, her life was triumphant with great difficulty which affected her schooling. And also, the woman she stayed with made matters worse.

She also uttered how God’s grace has been in her life all this while, and giving gratitude to God for how far he has brought her, and who she has become.
