Ghana is not peaceful as we taut —- Chieftaincy Ministry

Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs ministry has began consultation on the Government legal framework for the proposed religious policy at the review of the Chieftaincy acts 2008, act 759.
Stakeholders at the Central Regional meeting at the Elmina, was among other things opposed regulations of religious activities through the various religious groupings to conform way societal values and norms adhere to own professional values.
Although, Ghana is touted as peaceful in the sub region, there are still concerns within religious bodies that need some attention.
Such concerns include, the proliferation of churches, false prophets, schools children not been allow to choose their Religious in certain schools, establishment of media outlets by various religious groups to propagate falsehood and dup innocent citizens and others came to the fore.
It is in this regard the ministry with support from UNFPA is having this engagement session across the sixteen regions of the country.
The meeting sees to address the challenging opportunities that arise from the co-existence of different faith and believes in society.
It would also provide the framework for the protection and promotion of rights and freedoms of all religious groups as well as prevention and desolation of conflicts.
