The Ghana Culture Forum (GCF), a civil society organization of cultural and creative practitioners and organizations will start this year’s Ghana Culture Week celebrations with a Fashion Dialogue at Buro inside Nyaniba Estates, Osu.
The Fashion Dialogue will be hosted by the award-winning international Ghanaian designer, Beatrice Arthur and will feature ace photographer Adotey Lomotey and celebrated artist, Wiz Kudowor. The event is part of the weeklong series of activities. Other activities lined up include an inter-school debate at the Accra Tourist Information Centre, a symposium and a presentation on the Africa Fashion Report by UNESCO.
The weeklong celebration ends with the screening of a movie, Asantewa followed by a panel discussion on the movie.
The theme for this year’s Ghana Culture Week Celebration is “Cultivating Cultural Capital: Nurturing Ghana’s Legacy Legacy for Africa’s Renaissance and ace playwright and entrepreneur, Chief Moomen will deliver the keynote address on the theme at the Symposium on Thursday.”
The GCF was launched in 2012 and has celebrated Ghana Culture Day since then in 2022, the forum added the inter-school debate as part of the Ghana Culture Day activities and this year, it has been expanded to a whole week.
In a related development, the Musicians Union of Ghana is also celebrating Ghana Music Month with a series of activities. As part of the Music Month, last week, MUSIGA held a health screening exercise and a music business seminar for its members and today is being marked as Play Ghana Music Day.
