There is a need for a forensic audits into budgetary funds for FSHS —– Clement Abas Apaak
There is a need for the joint committee in parliament to initiate an action for a forensic audits into all allocations of budgetary funds to the education sector more especially the flagship programme of the New Patriotic Party Free Senior High School.
By all projections it’s about 15 billion cedis has been release into the programme since the inception of the programme seven years ago.
The challenges and problems confronting the education policy and the amount of money invested into the Free Senior High School and we have nothing to show in areas of infrastructure, learning materials and malnourish food which students are been fed is very discouraging.
The Member of Parliament for Builsa South Dr. Clement Apaak, said this on Adekyee Mu Nsem morning show on Ahotor 92.3 FM hosted by Citizen Kofi Owusu in Accra.
He is of the view that, there is a need for the government to call for a public lecture and communicate to the public, the stake holders in the education sector to address the numerous challenges and problems affecting the entire education system.
He reiterated that it’s on record that, for the past years basic schools in the country are been run without text books and the entire school management system is out of control, since all educational logistics are not supply on time.
Hon. Apaak opined that, the misconception on the part of the New Patriotic Party government agenda in running the FSHS programme as if it’s the party that is paying for the programme; rather it’s the tax payers money that is been used to implement the policy. And there is a need for a review of the programme to check and protect the falling standard of quality of education in the country.
Touching on the leader of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) New Year message, he is of the view that, John Dramani Mahama speaks like a leader with a sense of hope and vision.
The country is in a state of hopelessness and with his sense of direction on job creation and trying to interconnect all the productive sectors in the twenty four hour economy is very laudable.
He said according to the former president and the leader of the NDC Former president and flag bearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has condemn President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and his Vice Dr Mahamudu Bawumia for the damage they have caused to the economy over their 8-year rule.
Mr. Mahama said he is poised to repair the damage caused by the recklessness of the government in the next NDC government.
Mr. Mahama called on the electorate to reject the NPP in the 2024 polls for plunging the country into an economic quagmire.
