The Member of Parliament for Pru East, Dr. Kwabena Donkor, is calling on the government to extend relief items to residents who have been displaced by flooding.
Nine communities in some districts, including Asuogyaman, Pru East, and Bole Bamboi, have been submerged after the Volta Lake overflowed its banks.
Reports indicate that over 2,000 residents have been displaced, and farmlands and property have been destroyed in the area.
Health services and academic activities have been halted due to the destruction.
The Pru East lawmaker said that the institutions responsible for responding to such disasters must act urgently.
He added that they have received very little from the Ghanaians.
