The Trade Union Congress (TUC) has urged the University Teachers Association of Ghana (UTAG) to support efforts to review the 1992 constitution of Ghana.
This would limit the powers of the Executive to show good governance and safeguard democracy.
The Secretary General of TUC Dr. Yaw BAAH made the call during the opening of the 21st biannual UTAG National Congress and induction ceremony at the University for Development Studies in Tamale.
Dr. Yaw Baah who was a guest speaker commended UTAG for its contributions to national development.
He said the 1992 has failed to deliver power to the ordinary citizen. According to Dr. Baah, the concentration of power in the hands of the executive is economical to national development and therefore, there is the need to review the constitution.
