The chairman of Ghana Grid Company, (CRIDCO) Mr. Kabral Amihere has stated that the interference of the Government in state Institutions leads to the non-performance of state-owned enterprises.
He said such interference is responsible for the failure of the entities to entirely deliver on their mandate. He made the call when delivering a speech at the second public Enterprises Lead Table.
Mr . Amihere said most surviving state enterprises or corporations have been turned into limited liability companies under the Company’s Act.
He said these companies are limited by a number of State policies and paralegal frameworks inhibiting them from operating as limited liability companies.
He observed that Managers of these entities cannot make brave decisions to change companies under their watch and be held responsible for their actions.
To make these entities effective and viable in delivering their mandate, there is the need for the Government to respect the limit of the relation between it and the state entities to give them the freedom to effectively operate.
