Tarkwa- Nsuaem MP George Mireku Duker, a board member of Medeama SC, has announced a fresh alliance with Nguvu Mining Company LTD adhering to the club’s historic qualifying to the CAF Champions’ League group stage.
Ghanaian champions Medeama SC have signed a multi-year sponsorship pact with Nguvu Mining, replacing Goldfields as their jersey sponsor for the 2023-24 season.
The deal was formally signed and announced on Friday, October 6, 2023, during a press conference in Accra, Ghana’s capital.
While the club has not released the actual financial parameters of the arrangement, insiders say it is in the $300,000 to $400,000 region every year.
This cooperation represents a significant financial milestone for the team and comes at an important moment for Medeama, who just qualified for the group stage of the CAF Champions League for the first time, a significant feat in their first try.
The club has encountered financial difficulties following Goldfields’ loss of sponsorship, citing budgetary restrictions.
During an interview, George Mireku Duker said,
“There is going to be a relationship between Nguvu and that of Medeama and I believe that marriage is going to send a Signal that will bring prowess to this nation, shall we give that marriage a hand of applause”.
“I must welcome all of you and indicate why we are here, we are because Medeama Currently representing Ghana at the CAF Champions League hasn’t won against two (2) repeatable soccer institutions in Nigeria, in Guinea and outstandingly Medeama aids side high.”
”They have made the people of the Western Region proud and made Ghana proud and it is the reason why Nguvu Saw the need to support such an emerging team to make Ghana proud. We are grateful to Nguvu for this support.”
