JM directs all party supporters to support the limited registration – Kwame Otu

The limited voter registration takes of today with a lot of reactions which has to do with the slow pace the process is going through. The observation from some of the centers shows that, the bio data verification machines (BDV) are very slow in capturing some potential new voters who have reported at some of the centers in the Greater Accra region.
Speaking to the issues on the morning show on Ahotor FM in Accra, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) national communication member Mr. Kwame Out said, the flag bearer of the NDC former President John Dramani Mahamah has directed all party supporters to support and direct all the energy and attention to the exercise by encouraging the youth who are future leaders of the country to go and register.
This he said is the only way to vote New Patriotic Party (NPP) out from office. He reiterated that the government has performed abysmally, and there is a need to take the exercise very serious, and not to allow Electoral Commission to disenfranchise people from registering in limiting registration exercise just to on district offices throughout the country.
The Executive Director of Care Ghana, Mr. David Kumi Addo, said the NDC as a corporate democratic institution political party approach fighting their way to power is nothing to drive home.
He said there is a need for the party to be circumspect to use all the democratic tolls of demonstration and other approaches to fight for their followers more especially by putting the government on its toes. He is of the view that, the challenges confronting the citizens and the followers of the NDC, the party have to work hard as a force to be recognized as the party waiting to form a new government.
The Executive Secretary Chamber for local government, Mr. Romeo Elikplim Akahoho, said it will be appropriate for the Electoral Commission (EC) to review the limited voter registration exercise else a lot of people will be disenfranchise. He is of the view that, a lot of the district offices are not easy accessible for the new potential youth to register. Since the cost of transport travelling from their respective towns and villages is a little bit far, and most of them are not financially ready to pay for transport to these district offices throughout the country where the registration exercise has taken off today.
