Every Black Star player will be gladly welcome for the Africa U-23 tournament – Godwin Attram 

The assistant coach of Ghana’s U-23 national team, Godwin Attram has expressed that the technical team will gladly welcome any of the Black Stars players who will be qualified to play in the U-23 Africa Championship.

In an interview,  Godwin Attram emphasized that although they have a good team, adding some component of players from the Black stars who qualify to play for U-23.

 “The technical team have discussed these things and we feel that those who are under the age and are capable of helping the country why not? They must join the Black Meteors as well, as players like Kamaldeen Sulemana and others, there is a chance for them to join the team, and we hope that they will join and make an impact to support the country.

“The country needs this tournament to qualify for France, it is very important, we haven’t been able to qualify for the tournament, a country like Ghana, and it’s very bad. So we hope that calling them to come and join, they will give their hearts out, play very well, listen to the technical team, and make something good out of it because it is good to be an Olympian,” he added

The head coach of the Black Meteors, Ibrahim Tanko has 22 players at the Ghanaian Soccer Centre of Excellence preparing for the CAF U-23 Championship set for Morocco in June.

Ghana needs to qualify for the Olympic Games after missing out for 16 years and the inclusion of some key players from the Black Stars will help the team’s quest.

The Meteor’s last appearance at the Olympics was in Beijing 2004 in Athens, Greece where they exited at the first stage.
