Lothar Matthäus excited to partner with Ghana Club
Bayern Munich and Inter Milan legend Lothar Herbert Matthäus say he is excited after being named as the new partner of Ghana Premier League side Accra Lions.
The former German international was currently in Ghana for an official announcement by the club of the new partnership.
The event was attended by various distinguished personalities, including the Minister of Youth and Sports, Honourable Mustapha Ussif, the German ambassador, His Excellency Daniel Krull, and a leading member of the Ghana Football Association as well as some members of the Professional Footballers Association of Ghana (PFAG).
Lothar Matthäus, who was capped 150 times for Germany, won the Ballon d’Or and FIFA World Player of the Year Award in 1990 while plying trade at Italian Serie A giants Inter Milan.
He played an instrumental role in West Germany’s 1990 FIFA World Cup triumph.
