Member of Parliament for Bolgatanga Central Isaac Adongo says the Finance Minister is sitting on a time bomb and likened his press conference to a man trying to be confident under difficult circumstances.
The Finance Minister Ken Ofori Atta attempted to cut a confident, hopeful figure when he faced the press to provide an update on Ghana’s negotiations with the IMF.
The Finance Minister was hopeful that the International Monetary Fund would agree to fast track discussions in order for his outfit to include some conditions of the program in the 2023 budget.
Speaking on the Gold Morning Conversation, Isaac Adongo who is Deputy Ranking member on the Finance Committee of Parliament says the Finance Minister’s words betrayed his attempt to cut a confident figure hopeful of a swift turnaround in the fortunes of the economy.
He accused Ken Ofori Atta of mismanaging the country to the point where it would take a miracle to completely salvage the economy.
