Veteran Kumawood actor, Akrobeto, has exclusively revealed that he has stayed in Accra for 43 solid years and all this while, he has never paid rent before.
Ghanaian veteran actor Akrobeto revealed in an interview that he has stayed in Accra for 43 years, and has never paid rent before.
When he left his village in the Ashanti Region to settle in Accra in 1979, he, fortunately, met Apostle Kwadwo Sarfo who sheltered him for close to two decades.
According to him, when he decided to leave Apostle Kwadwo Safo’s house to rent a new place because he had come of age, his new landlord also refused to rent out his house to him after he got to know that he was the one who wanted to rent his house.
He said; “I didn’t have anything of my own. My family was very poor. When I completed Form 4 in the year 1979, Apostle Kwadwo Sarfo sent someone to come for me from my village to stay with him in Accra.”
“And I stayed with him for a very long time without paying a dime because of my humility and honesty. Even in times when I moved out, anytime, I pay rent, strangely, the landlords either return my money or refuse to accept it,”
Working over 3 decades and starring in 200 movies in his career.
Akrobeto is one of the most respected movie stars in the country at the moment.
