An aide to former President John Evans Atta Mills the late and founder of the Atta Mills Institute, Samuel Koku Anyidoho, has denied claims of tampering with the grave of the late President.
He has insisted and called on the Odomna Abusua of Akumfi Otuam in the Central Region to penalise or crucify him if they find out that the late President’s tomb has been tampered.
The Former Deputy General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) disclosed this when he led the late President’s family from Akumfi Otuam to officially lay a wreath to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the passing of Ghana’s 3rd President of the Fourth Republic.
The government received severe backlash after refurbishing the burial ground of Prof. Mills.
The president of the Atta Mills Institute Mr. Anyidoho was not spared as he was accused together with the government to have tampered with the grave of the former President.
But Mr. Anyidoho who was clasped in tears appealed to the family to pardon him if the Odomna family was disrespected during the rehabilitation period.
He insisted there is no way he could desecrate the tomb of a man who loved, cherished and gave him the opportunity.
“Prof. Mills loved and cherished, he took me as a son and gave me the opportunity to serve, so how can I do that to whittle down his legacy?”
“I plead that you forgive me if I offended the Odomna Abusua for spearheading this. But you can crucify me if you find out that Prof. Mills’ tomb was tampered with,” he noted.
“We have given Prof Mills a befitting burial ground, that is what we have done my family; but forgive if I have wronged the family for doing this, he said.
Anyidoho further expounded that his boss died when NDC was in power but the party refused to give Asomdwoe Park a facelift regardless of the countless times he insisted.
Hence his persistent effort to get assistance from the government to honour the late President.
