An NDC Researcher and a Social Commentator, Ivan Kyei Innocent in an interview with Ahotor Fm believes the Inspector General of Police, George Akuffo Dampare made the most unacceptable mistake by attempting to arrest the Madina Member of Parliament for Madina Francis Sosu at his church premises.
Speaking on Ahotor FM’s late afternoon political show hosted by Alaska the Don, Ivan believes the MP did not commit any treasonable act that possess a threat to the country’s security, that could warrant the IGP to order for his arrest at a church premise.
He further stated that Article 117 and 118 of Ghana’s constitution made provisions for the Members of Parliament, so going against the orders of the Speaker of Parliament to arrest Hon. Sosu shows an insensitive institutions standing against each other.
” There’s a breakdown at the leadership front, there’s no proper leadership in place” he says.
Ivan further states that, the Parliament of Ghana has been
Reduced to a level that Ghanaians no longer respect them even though it is full of great and well educated people.
“Parliamentarians don’t realize the implications of what they are fighting for because of partisan politics” he added.
