Two Malian Youngsters banned for doping

Two Malian players Sekou Koita and Mohamed Camara have been suspended by UEFA for a period of three months after testing positive for banned substances.

The pair who play for Austrian side Salzburg were banned following a drug test carried out by UEFA in November 22 last year and will now be on the sidelines until at least May 2021.

According to the Mali Football Association, the pair, both 21, were treated with an altitude sickness medicine by the team doctor before playing in an African Cup of Nations qualifier in the Namibian capital of Windhoek.

This comes as a sad news for Salzburg as Koita is the leading top scorer of the Austrian Bundesliga having found the net 15 times in 16 games this season.

The Doctor has since been suspended by the Malian FA.
