Editor of the Insight Newspaper, Kwasi Pratt Junior has said, that former President John Dramani Mahama is not arrogant or disrespectful at all, since he started his political career and the position he has occupied if we will be truthful to ourselves as a country.
Speaking in an interview monitored by Onokwafo Yaw Asiedu of Ahotor FM, a member of a think tank group called Alliance for Change said, we all know sometimes people’s understanding of comments by someone differs and if you don’t take care, people will twist words in a different way.
According to him, the ex-gratia is worrying the country so much to the extent that, it is even good to be a former President than a current one because of the money involved.
In his comment, he mentioned members of parliament salaries in Ghana compared to those in the European countries in which ours is huge. But our country does not have much hence scraping the ex-gratia will help us a lot as a country.
In conclusion, the member of the 1995 anti-government demonstration (kume preko) called on stakeholders to back former president Mahama’s call to scrap ex-gratia for it is possible.
