Tanzania Football Federation signs bumper deal

Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) has just signed a new deal with the digital satellite service provider, Azam TV.
This announcement was made on Tuesday at the launch in Dar es Salaam by the CEO of Azam Media Limited, Tido Muhando.

Azam TV, whose headquarters are in the capital of Tanzania has extended the rights to broadcast all Vodacom Premier League (VPL) matches from next season for the next 10-years in a deal worth Tsh. 225.6 billion ($100 million)
From next season, the winner of the league will be awarded Tsh 500 million ($220,000) in broadcasting rights and Tsh 500 million ($220,000) in bonuses.

The second team in the league will get TSh 250 million ($110,000) while the third team will get TSh 225 million($97,000). The fourth team will get TSh 200 million (95,000)

 All the 16 participating teams in the league will be given TSh 500 million ($220,000) per season
Speaking at the signing ceremony, the CEO of Azam Media said that the main aim of the partnership was to enable the players to play at their full potential and help them to eventually participate in bigger leagues in Europe and all over the world.

“Over the next 10 years, we want the Tanzania Premier League to be well known all over the world. We also want Tanzania to provide players who will eventually play in the biggest leagues in Europe,” Muhando said.
He also said that they were not allocating the money for the sake of allocating money. They wanted to see growth in all teams in the premier league.
