Call the Fire Service, not the police in accident cases

District Fire Commander for Devtraco in the Ningo Prampram district , Philimon Buabeng has revealed that the Ghana National Fire Service should be the first point of call when there’s an accident case, not the Ghana police service

According to him, the tendency to call the police first was wrong since they don’t have the equipments to remove victims from mangled vehicles, as it is the Ghana National Fire service that has been trained for that purpose and has a rescue unit and equipment to that effect.

He however explained that the police service supports the fire service by protecting properties and ensuring order at the accident scene.

He also raised concerns about the difficulty in accessing water in his outfit anytime they have to respond to emergency cases.
