Reports reaching Ahotoronline.com have indicated that the flagbearer of the National Democratic Party(NDP) and the former first lady of the Republic of Ghana, Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings has officially informed the Electoral Commission of Ghana her intention not to contest in the 2020 Presidential elections with barely 14 days to go into the elections.
Many believe her decision to pull out of the December general elections is largely motivated by the passing of her husband, ex-President Jerry John Rawlings.
Former President Jerry John Rawlings passed away few weeks after the burial of his mother at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital, Accra, after short illness.
The leadership of the NDP will later in the day officially communicate its position on the December general elections to Ghanaians in a press conference scheduled to take place here in Accra. Ahotoronline.com will convey briefings from the said press conference to our cherished readers.
