Chairman of the Parliamentary Select Committee on Defence and Interior, Collins Owusu Amankwaah says, the government is not involved in any recruitment into the security agencies, as suggested by the Minority leader, Haruna Iddrisu.
Haruna Iddrisu wondered why the government could recruit without recourse to Parliamentary permission, and insinuated a wrong doing.
According to the Chairman, those who were vetted to be recruited into the security agencies in 2017 exceeded the training facilities and logistics, hence were put in batches, and the current ones were those who could not assess the security training, and therefore government has not been involved in any illegality.
The Chairman took a swipe at the Minority leader who had access to government information but chose to be ‘pedestrian’ and depended on ‘hear say’, thereby scoring cheap political points.
