Upper Manya MP Successfully Mediates Dispute Between landowner and Contractor

During the Akatawia Sekesua-Sumuer junction road rehabilitation in Upper Manya Krobo, tensions flared over a dispute between the construction company and the landowner of the logistics site at Akatawia.

The construction company, which had initially taken possession of the land in 2016, faced complications due to non-payment by the Central Government, leading them to vacate the site five years ago.
Upon their return, they were met with the surprise of a church having been built on the property.

Despite the church’s reluctance to relocate, the contractor insisted on regaining possession.

In a bid to defuse the situation, Hon Bismark Tetteh Nyarko, the Member of Parliament fir tge constituency, played a crucial role by facilitating the relocation of the contractor to a new site at Sekesua after being informed of the challenges faced.

However, the contractor encountered another hurdle as the original landowner filed a complaint with the police at Asesewa for illegal occupation of the land.

Hon Bismark, urgently called to intervene, accompanied the contractor to the Asesewa Police Station to withdraw the case and seek an amicable resolution.

The MP’s proactive involvement helped de-escalate the tension and paved the way for negotiations to continue.

Construction work now progresses steadily at the new site in Sekesua, underscoring the commitment to resolving the dispute and ensuring the road rehabilitation project remains on course.
