NPP Communicators Are Doing Bawumia More Harm Than Good – PPP National Chairman

Nana Ofori Owusu, the National Chairman of the Progressive People’s Party (PPP), has expressed his belief that communicators from the New Patriotic Party (NPP) are adversely affecting the image of the party’s flagbearer and leader, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.

Nana Ofori pointed out a perceived deliberate effort to distance the Vice President from any negative occurrences in the governance system while attributing all positive achievements to him. He accused these communicators of displaying a “contradiction of thought” and inconsistencies in their messaging.

Highlighting a particular concern, he criticized the communicators for their tendency to dissociate Dr. Bawumia from anything negative while giving him credit for every positive aspect. Nana Ofori labeled this approach as a fundamental contradiction that can be detrimental to the candidate’s reputation.

He remarked, “One thing that the advisors or communicators do is unpleasant. Sometimes they don’t understand the utterances they make. They are trying to dissociate the man from anything that is negative and give credit to him for everything that is positive. It is a fundamental contradiction of your thoughts and actions. You can’t do that; when you do that, you are doing your candidate harm.”

Nana Ofori Owusu further emphasized the importance of presenting a coherent and authentic narrative. He raised concerns about the inconsistency of portraying Dr. Bawumia as having limited power in one context and, in another, lauding him as the best ever.

These remarks were made in connection to Dr. Bawumia’s “Bold Solution” Lecture held on 7th February, where he outlined his vision for the next government.
