The NPP will use any means, legal or not, to win. You need strategies to counter them – Abraham Koomson tells NDC

Abraham Koomson, Secretary General of the Ghana Federation of Labour (GFL), is urging the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to devise a winning strategy for the 2024 general elections, considering the formidable opposition of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), armed with state resources.

Mr. Koomson emphasized that the NPP has disappointed Ghanaians, making the NDC the only viable alternative. He stressed the importance of hard work to secure victory in the 2024 elections.

He called for collaboration between the NDC and Civil Society Organizations to rescue the country from the grip of the NPP for the sake of future generations.

Speaking on Ahotor 92.3 FM‘s ‘Yepe Ahunu‘ show with host Nana Dogbe, Mr. Koomson cautioned that the NPP would employ any means, legal or illegal, to win the elections, hence the need for preparedness to counter their tactics.

Mr. Koomson expressed optimism that the addition of Prof. Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang would enhance the NDC’s chances of winning. However, he warned that the NPP would play dirty, necessitating steadfastness from the NDC to secure power in the upcoming December polls.

He highlighted concerns over the NPP’s electoral strategies, citing the controversial incident involving Kwadaso MP Kingsley Nyarko during the Ejisu by-election, where he was allegedly seen giving an envelope to Electoral Commission officials. Koomson stressed that such actions raise questions about the NPP’s commitment to fair elections and suggested they might resort to bribery to secure victory.
