Leadership is missing in the stewardship of Nana Addo – Abass Osabutey

The level of indiscipline among the civilian population in the country and the lack of good governance and leadership at all levels of state institutions are eroding the confidence we imposed on President Nana Akufo-Addo as the leader of the country.

The youth of the country are not angry enough to put Ghana first with the injustice, corruption, cronyism, and nepotism that are driving most of the youth to use their productive time to venture into gambling this arises as a result of non-existent jobs in the country.

Abass Osabutey Executive Director of PPS Africa discloses this on Adekye Mu Nsem’s morning show on Ahotor 92.3 FM in Accra hosted by Citizen Kofi Owusu.

He said the state of the country’s infrastructure is in a deplorable state and it’s very unfortunate, to see some of the interest groups in the country have turned the act to demonstrate as a commercial venture where some leading members are making money from people and institutions.

He is of the view that it will be appropriate if the government will use an executive instrument to change, the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) to the preventive organization. This he opined will help to put up an efficient and technical team to be proactive in managing all forms of disasters that will confront the country going forward.

Abass Osabutey reiterated that the loss of investment and pain people are going through as a result of the spillage of the Akosombo dam there is a need for the government, to come out with a working plan to prevent it from occurring again.

Touching on the military brutality at Garu, said the government must take cognizance of the severe economic hardship in the country, while the leadership of the military and the president are in bed with national security inflicting this dastard act of human rights abuses on the civilian population is uncalled for.

He said a similar thing happened in Ashiaman and now Garu, is very sad and unfortunate the culture of lawlessness going on in the military. There is a need to put a stop to this, especially going into the 2024 presidential and parliamentary elections.

Speaking on the same morning show, Mr. George Nash, a member of the National Democratic Congress Communication team member, said the reality of government abysmal performance of the government to protect and defend all of us, is nothing to drive home, especially in areas of health, is in deplorable state.

He said he is disappointed with the president as a one-time human rights activist, under which abuses of brutality in all forms are taking place.

The Garu military and Ashiaman brutality is becoming too often, under the leadership of the president, where lawlessness has taken the leadership of the military where standards are falling.

This he believes must be checked and bring discipline through investigation and bring the culprits to book.
